What is new on TFT Set 3

TFT Set 3 is almost here, and a lot of changes are coming with it. TFT mode released in June 2019 and has since seen major updates in its gameplay and appearance. It has become very increasingly popular as it was fun and challenging from the very first day. The mode will be cross-platform in less than a month, as the app will be available in Android and IOS. Set 3 of TFT will be released on March 18.

Ranked season will end with the release of the new Set of champions. Per tier ranked emotes are known from the previous set and they will release now as well. The new type of reward that is also coming will be a variant of a Little Legend. The variant will release at the end of every set from now on and will have Set specific cosmetic details.

New content

Strategies to win a game of TFT are ever-evolving just like in League’s Summoner’s Rift mode. It was rather anticipated from all fans to have Riot show this type of devotion to a special mode. The new set of champions is about to release soon as a part of TFT Galaxies. Along with Galaxies new arenas and little legends rewards will be released. However, a paid version of the Galaxy Pass will allow players to have access to additional rewards and its price will be 1350 RP.

In Galaxies, players will be able to buy Little Legends from the store. There will be a small selection of legends that can be bought once as first tear versions, or they can be used to upgrade a Legend already owned by the player. The new arenas that are coming in Galaxies are unique and redesigned. The Odyssey arenas of the word of the Dark Star will be available for purchase with the release of TFT Galaxies. They can be bought individually for 1380RP or in a bundle for 2900RP

Cheat Sheet

Origins

In TFT Set 3 there are almost entirely new origin categories a few new classes and a lot to learn about new strategies.

The only origin category that is the same as it was in previous set is Void. There are new and exciting features of the new set. One of them is the Mech Pilot origin that merges three champions at the start of the combat. For the first time, we see a universal buff that heals all champions, in the Celestial origin categories. Druids could also heal but this did not affect all players.

Chrono buff that gives attack speed is also very powerful compared to Light origin buff in Set 2. It affects all players and in the highest stage players gain a 40% attack speed every 4 seconds. Shadow buff that was very popular in the current patch and the previous finds its equivalent in dark star during set 3. Although this time one Dark Star player has to die to gain attack speed to the others in the team, it can still affect how well a team performs in the early and late game as well.

It’s early to say which combos are going to be powerful for the coming patches but a lot of champions are the same as well as many items. As in League of Legends Summoners Rift it is possible for players to create their own build.

Classes that still remain in play are Mystic and Blademaster. Comparing them to te current patch of set 2, Blademasters in Set 3, will always trigger two additional attacks. The chances for this to happen will be 25% or 50% depending on how many they are. There are minor changes for Mystic champions, as they will give 30 Magic resist instead of 40 (current patch) at the first stage with 2 of them in a team.

Classes that are the same with the ones from Set 1 are Brawler and Sorcerer. Brawler class will have 2 stages in Set 3 with 250 and 750 bonus health for Brawlers. Sorcerers will be significantly weaker compared to Set 1. Increased spell power will be 15%, 40%, 120% on each stage.

What is the best combo for TFT Set 3?

As there are a lot of changes as we speak in PBE environment, it is difficult to determine the dominant combos of the coming patches of Set 3 of TFT.

Other changes

Spatulas are going to reappear in carousels for TFT Set 3 and single components are going to be available in round 6 and beyond. Also, full items will be appearing earlier, in the course of the game.

There will be minor gold income changes and changes in drop boxes in the first rounds. Also, streak gold will be available in PVE rounds.

Base damage per stage is increasing massively towards the last stages and the additional damage per surviving champion will be +1. Mana gain per attack will be a flat 10 for all champion levels and it will be 35% less likely for Neeko’s Help to drop.
